Concern over heat ends and now the rains

TELRADIO/May 17: It was few weeks back people complained to the excessive heat in various parts of the country and now the torrential rains accompanied by lightening is causing concern with several thousand families affected.
By Monday,  more than 50,000 people hit by the floods, at least four deaths reported, several roads impassable and houses damaged or submerged.
The Meteorological Department is warning of more showers and fresh warnings of landslides have been issued to residents in the Kalutara, Galle and Ratnapura districts.
More of the concern of the western province comprising the Gampaha, Kalutara and Colombo districts have been the issue of flood management amidst allegations that many of the water outlets have been blocked due to illegal constructions.

With the rains continuing the concern about the residents in the western province is likely to be about the rising water levels causing floods in several areas.
